We thought that was nice, and we got a lot of compliments because of it, but then came ... QP UPDATE No. 41 August 1, 2000 QUALITY WEB WATCH Because this month's issue of QP takes a look at quality related award programs, we thought we would see what Internet resources were available where such programs were concerned. Take a look at what we found. QUALITY AWARDS http://www.Baldrigeplus.com Everything you want to know about the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award can be found at this New Zealand site. Several Baldrige related case studies are included as are "Baldrige Basics," studies illustrating performance excellence concepts, printable Baldrige worksheets and online workshops. Aint that just great! http://web5.whs.osd.mil/awardsa.htm The Office of the Secretary of Defense describes several government related awards, specifically the Secretary of Defense Team Excellence Award and the President's Quality Award. The RIT/USA Today Quality Cup and ASQ's quality awards are also covered. Each description offers either a contact or a link to that award's Web site. http://www.asq.org/abtquality/awards/asqawards.html ASQ's Web site describes all of the awards it administers. The site discusses the mission of each medal and offers the opportunity to download nomination forms. Information on the Baldrige Award and the European Quality Award is also provided. http://www.apqc.org/best/qual/qualityawards.htm This thorough listing of Web sites comes from the American Productivity and Quality Center. While some of the sites listed may not be considered the stuff of formal awards, they all deal with programs that recognize quality. Many sites are categorized by industry. http://www.qualitytoday.com/library/states-1.htm The staff at Quality Today has compiled a great state-by-state award list. Although hyperlinks to the awards' Web sites are not offered, URLs are provided. Each listing includes a contact phone number and/or e-mail address, the location of the administers office and the categories the award program offers. http://www.americanquality.com/awards.htm The American Quality Mall gives users a useful list of national, state and regional quality awards. Each award is followed with a brief description and a link to that award program's Web site. http://www.texas-quality.org/states.htm The Quality Texas Foundation offers a short list of state and regional quality awards.
